This year, Duns Pep Top 7.500 Portuguese Companies commemorates 33 years of existence and, to mark this date, we have added another 2.500 companies to the on-line version of our Directory, thus totalling 10.000 companies, organized by sales ranking.
Is an annual publication which shows the size - with reference to companies and their corresponding data - as well as the quality of a global database, updated daily by the use of several different sources: the companies in question, Government Gazettes, Notarial Offices, Courts of Justice, Registrar's Offices, press, payment records, ...
We witness daily the set up of new companies, the dissolution of others and also mergers and acquisitions - normal occurrences in these days, and which must be recorded in this publication.
As a key component and sole identifier for each company, we use the D-U-N-S® Number as a reference, with which any company in the world may be researched or identified.
The annual increase in the proportion of updates requested via the Internet is far beyond our expectations and have thus strongly contributed to the update of this publication and to bring forward the date of its issue.
After the data is received, all the information obtained is treated, filtered and confirmed.
The ranking in the publication is based on the non consolidated 2010 sales volume. Companies which did not supply their data up to 10 November could not be included in the publication.
In addition to the ranking of the Top 10.000 Portuguese Companies, we include a section with all the financial companies operating in Portugal, a section with the national companies quoted on the Lisbon Stock Exchange at the date of closure of the publication; and a section with the certified companies included in the Top 10.000 Portuguese Companies. In addition to these sections we show the inherent statistics and a listing of the 10.000 companies by business activity.
In spite of all the efforts we have placed into this publication, as described, there may have been incorrect entries which (as historically confirmed) have been minimal. Notwithstanding this record, Informa D&B cannot assume responsibility for any losses or damages which may occur, or for the correctness of the respective basis.
